Meet Your Couples and Anxiety Therapist in Charleston, SC
Kindra Westercamp, Ph.D
Do you keep getting stuck in the same fights with your partner without any resolution or lasting change? Perhaps you have recently considered whether to stay in the relationship because it feels so hopeless.
Hello, I’m Kindra Westercamp, PhD, and I’ve helped many couples who feel emotionally disconnected, unappreciated, or misunderstood start to feel more understood, supported, and connected once again.
If you would like to move from surviving together to truly thriving together, look no further.
I’m a psychologist in Charleston, SC, specializing in couples therapy, postpartum therapy, anxiety/trauma therapy, as well as grief work. For over 15 years, I have been providing therapy to adult men and women in a warm, compassionate, non-judgmental space full of plants and messages of hope.
I often say, few things in life are more challenging than raising children and nurturing a healthy, thriving marriage as both require intention, patience, and support along the way. Perhaps you have found yourself presently struggling with your role as a new parent or in your relationship. If you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or defeated, I would feel honored to help you navigate this current season of hardship.
My interest in treating clients presenting with grief blossomed following the death of my brother and father. I found the ability for a person to hold space for someone else navigating a deeply painful loss to be profoundly healing. And now I desire to hold space for those others experiencing grief, offering support, understanding, and companionship through one of life’s most difficult circumstances.
As a clinician, I have always been drawn toward helping clients better navigate their internal battle with anxiety and/or trauma, as I also experience the heaviness of persistent worry, catastrophic thinking patterns, and intrusive thoughts. Anxiety and trauma have a way of making people feel like they have lost their light or ability to live fully.
Whatever brings you to therapy, I am committed to supporting you as you move from surviving to truly living again.
